PackCal is a data field: here's how to use it

PackCal isn't a separate activity you start. It's a data field you add to an activity you already use:

1. Install PackCal from the Connect IQ Store.
2. On your watch, open an activity that involves carrying weight: Hike, Walk, or a native Ruck profile.
3. Go into that activity's settings → data screens / fields, pick a field slot, and choose Connect IQ Fields → PackCal.
4. Set your pack weight in PackCal's own on-watch settings (no phone needed). Start the activity. Your load-aware calories appear in the cell.

After you save, the pack-aware totals also land in Garmin Connect under the activity's Stats → Connect IQ section.

Reporting a bug

Including the following helps me reproduce and fix the issue quickly:

• Your Garmin watch model (e.g. Forerunner 965, Venu 3, fēnix 8).
• Your watch firmware version. On most devices: Settings → System → About.
• The PackCal version you're running, from the Connect IQ Store listing or the app's store details on your phone.
• Which activity profile you added PackCal to (Hike, Walk, Ruck, …) and the field layout (1-field, 2-field, etc.).
• What you did, what you expected, and what actually happened.
• Roughly when it happened (date and approximate time).
• If the activity saved, the Garmin Connect URL helps a lot.

Feature requests

Welcome. The roadmap moves at the pace of a single developer, but real-world input shapes what gets prioritized. If you have a use case the field doesn't cover, send it over.

Refunds

Garmin permits returns of paid Connect IQ apps (commonly reported as a 48-hour window). The mechanism is typically to uninstall the app from your watch shortly after purchase; Garmin then reverses the charge automatically. If you have trouble, contact Garmin Support. Meridian doesn't process payments and has no access to your purchase.
